Tips to get kids to eat more fruits and vegetables

  • Use fruits and vegetables as snacks instead of chips, cookies or candy. You can try making your child a popsicle trying different kinds of fruits.
  • Try dipping apples in peanut butter, or carrots in hummus. Kids love dipping because they find it fun!
  • Mix vegetables to create delicious soups, stews, casseroles and baked items. Carrots, zucchini, pumpkin and sweet potato are great options.
  • Be creative in using fruits in making desserts and smoothy recipes. You can replace flour with sweet potatoes and avocadoes to create delicious cupcakes and cookies, or blend different types of delicious fruits to have a nutritious smoothie.
  • Avoid all kinds of artificial juices and replace them with freshly squeezed ones, and chop up and mix different fruits for fruit salads full of fiber.
  • Be a role model by eating more fruits and vegetables because kids like to copy what they see.
